I didn't have to use them but know they exist for laptop install troubles. I also recall readingsomething about this on MandrakeForum.com (or .org, I can't remember off the top of my head). /g how would I do that if I can`t even get the installation going? I have had a problem myself with 8.1 on a laptop.

I have linux running on my desktop, and am interested in learning more about UN*X. I know that minix will run on the 286, but I don't know how to install it without booting from a floppy. For regular dos software, I can just transfer it using a projram called fx from my desktop to the laptop.
