This is a 5+ year old 1600 series laptop with an AMD 350Mhz processor. When I tied installing FC1 on a much newer Compaq laptop (x1000), a different problem (keyboard lockup) prevented install until I updated the 6 month old bios! I looked for bios updates for my old machine, but found nothing.
